Hey guys, just wondering if you guys can recommend a good pair of sound isolation earphones, preferably not too ex. budget abt..$300? yeah. i've been looking at etymotic, shure and ultimate ears. which do u think is best? or do u guys have any other recommendations?

also, do you guys know any shops in singapore which sell etymotic and ultimate ears products?

thanks,
derrick

Hi, you might wanna head down to Adelphi. There's a shop on the 4th floor call Jaben Network that carries a range of IEMs (in ear monitors). I believe they have the brands that you mentioned and you're welcome to try them out.

derrick,

what do you wanna use the headphones for?
That will give us a better gauge of what to recommend

Okay, for in-ear try the shure E5. I am using them for IEM in church. They rock! Another alternative is the sony MDR7506, both the shure and sony provides excellent isolation.

However, if you are on a tighter budget, can try te audio technica ATH-M30. You will be surprised by the performance for that price. Go ask Luther.

Thanks, robin. Hm. The E5Cs seem very expensive, and I'm actually looking for earbuds, as I'll use them with my mp3 as well, and don't really want to carry big headphones around. Yeah.

Any recommendations for slightly cheaper earbuds? And do you have any thoughts on Ultimate Ears Superfi 3 vs Westone UM1 vs Shure E2Cs? Or the Superfi5 vs UM2 vs E4Cs? I'm looking at either of those ranges.

The next best bet is the E4s, I have tried the E3s, not only are they not comfortable over long period of usage, thelow response are also not too fantastic. E2, no need to consider.

Just my 2 cents worth of thoughts

Robin
