How many of us actually learn guitar from an inspirational teacher but then don't bother to do a tribute to him?

Here's a song done by a friend of mine, Chang, a tribute to Beez, whose name and marvel spreads itself. Thought it'd be good to share with everyone.

Thanks to everyone tt listened in. Kudos to the man who fixed our guitars and showed us what sweeping is all abt. With a smile of course.

Er birds-wise, i think there are enough guys in this forum to fill up the "birds" part of the equation. It's just a silly play on his name. I'm not very good with naming songs anyways.

And as much as Beez sweeps and melts our faces with his killer solos, he does play alot of nonsense country stuff when i was learning from him. Not quite sure whether tt's his country-phase or whatever, but i guess i picked up something subconsciously.

I'm not a country player btw, this is just a one-off attempt to sound country.

Fgl, thanks for your interest in my slide playing. I can session for you if you really really need someone, but to tell you the truth i ain't no slide player at all. This is really just a one-off attempt at playing slide on my part. We can always hook up to discuss abt this though. Just drop me a pm or smthing?

A real good slide player to look to would be this dude called Victor. I think he plays for U-Blues (not v sure). He shreds on the slide man. Killer stuff.

Yo Chang, I play a bit of country too (session) in a band called The Mavericks - used to play 6 nights a week chicken pickin all the way until buey tahan..

Your slide work is minimalistic but choon & tite. Maybe someday we can jam together and see what happens? Would be interesting.

Many other slide players I have played with over the years tend to overplay. I play a bit of slide too but I'm more of s Sonny Landreth and Bonnie Raitt fan - player as compared to the Johnny Winters / George Thorogood types.

Haha, i know i suck in singing. I think everyone knows. It's a well known fact. But when u are a lone ranger, u've gotta do everything yourself. So yea man, no choice. Apologies for my singing, i shall try to play more solos nxt time!

Erhmm as for my slide playing, i think it's becos i dun really know the usual licks. Kinda just playing it safe here, going for the safer pentatonic notes. So tt's choon & tite for yea Might have quite a number of slightly off notes which my ears can't pick up.

Anyways, thanks for the encouragement and the pointers. Do you have MSN? Maybe we can discuss further

Chang dont apologize for your singing - you did your best and thats all counts. Regardless of whatever, the song is your "baby" and a commenndable effort. Im sure Beezmaster will be touchedat your efforts.
