Someone to tune my drumset

Looking for someone to tune my Yamaha drumset.
Like PLEASE................:p
Just bought it and I have NO IDEA how tuning it goes about.
The salesman tuned it for us once but somehow, it sounds like "wrong" now.

So need to retune everything, from bass to toms.
And we play mostly rock.

I live in the North area and will give about $20 to the person who tune it for me.:)

Anyone interested please PM me. Thanks!

I think you should just learn how to tune so if they sound 'wrong' again you can just tune them back up. And this way your drums will sound how YOU want them to sound not somebody else. Look for videos on tuning on youtube and read the drum bible

Here: http://home.earthlink.net/~prof.sound/

I hope that helps a little

thats some good advice from jukebox there

girlpants do try it out and feedback again if it still sounds funny...

Whoa Jukebox, that's ALOT to read. hahaha:p
Can... I will try some youtube and read up the "bible".
But honestly, is a drum dial necessary to tune drum? For a beginner...

A drum dial is not very necessary if you need to tune your drums but it is an advantage.. It can help you get the sounds you want by remembering the tension etc.. Just experiment a little and you can get the sound you like.. :D

Okay guys, I am done with the tom toms. All 3 sounded great!!:p
Thank you so much.
But, I still have my bass and snare. So do I use the exact same method like I did on the toms? Or any other special steps for them?

haha keep trying and experimenting, you will get it soon. practice makes perfect. its irritating initially but when you hear the nice sound you tuned. wow! you will be happy. any problems tuning just voice it out here. fellow softies will definitely help! DH what you pm? curious. you wan go over help ar? :D

DH is all about teaching how to fish ... gotta love that guy... contributing so much to the community..

And yeah, true. People here are really helpful:p
DH, let me try it out myself first. If everything else fails, then I'll have to depend on you:???:
But if you're gonna come, you're not gonna teach me but my 9 year old brother. Cos it's his drums.:)

**My ears are tired**
Haha

haha nice job man!. yea. give the man a fish and he will eat for a day. teach the man to fish and he will eat for a lifetime!

hmm buzzing sound. yea it comes from the metal things below called the strainers. yea. what you can do is to tighten it. so you can either turn the know and the side of the snare, you know the clutch. and if that cannot then you have to release the screws holding the strainer and tighen that too. yep!

Quick question.
My snare is like having this buzzing sound when hit.
Is it the metal thing below it or?

I have this kinda problem too, coz my snare is kinda cheap and used. Just put something on the snare while playing (I put my wallet, which is full of receipts) and the sound comes out deep and tight.

It's a cheap and lazy way to do it, but it works! Espeically if the snare isn't very cooperative..

haha. lazy way huh, maybe it will work for me.
But i just wanna tune it nicely so that my little bro can play it while I'm at work. And he don't have to call me every now and then saying his drum sounds funny.
:)

Tune on your own is the best way to achieve the sound you wanted. The buzzing sound is the snare wire. Try holding your snare vertically, tune the wire tension and hit the side with your stick, this will save time since is not your set and want to get over with it fast yeah?

Hey, thanks!
For now I still got the hang of it.
I'll be sending my brother for drum lessons with Alvin soon and hopes he learns this tuning thing.:p

Cool! See whether he has a slot. He usually is packed. Learning early is a good start. But remind him to keep focused eh? Have the potential of the next generation drummer for singapore.
