sorry for the nooobiness

i have recently bought the yamaha dtexplorer electronic drums(first time drum owner)... reason i bought it is because i live in a hdb flat and i dunwan the drum noise to disturb my neighbours. but i realised that i create a 'vibration' on the floor when i step on the pedal(like when u stamp ur feet on the floor). i have placed a carpet underneath my drums but the 'vibrations' is still there... is there any ways to eliminate the vibrations cos i dunwan my downstairs neighbour to come knocking on my door.....

hey. for me i will say. why dun you firstly go down and ask your neighbour if they hear the vibration. if they dun. then ain't it fine? dun worry i doubt the floor will crack. ok if still cannot. then you need to get a raised platform? those wooden kind or something. but i not sure where to get but i have seen such pictures. or you can try to put more shock absorbing material like sponge? you go check the show us your drums thread. check our softwaremaker's kit you see those jigsaw alphabet. maybe that will help.

just my two cents hope it helped!

I second what kanzer said.

I'm also an owner to a DTXplorer and I also use a carpet in an attempt to minimize any disturbance to the neighbour downstairs. So far so good. And, my drumset is in the living room, I played like in the middle of the night, say 3am, and even in the afternoons. No complaints yet, so I guess it wasn't really that bad.

Hmm.. is your carpet thick? I'm thinking maybe you need a thicker carpet or maybe 2 carpets layering.
