400 would be overpriced, I think.

Make sure you get what you want. Into rock/metal? you might fiind 22 frets a little insufficient. Even though the guitar have been modded here and there, its still a GAX. Your 400 dollars might be better off with a first hand RG series instead.

No matter, when you buy something secondhand, especially one that cost more than 10 dollars, bring a more experienced friend along with you. He/she could help you check the item for damages or flaws.

Lastly... Calculate your budget well... You need money for guitar AND guitar amplifier, and possibly an effects pedal (first one probably distortion pedal). No point spending 400 on a guitar when you cannot afford an amp.
