Solaris Keyboard - something to watch...

Quick update. For those who don't know, the SCOPE platform (Creamware) had been acquired by SonicCore as from today (1 March 2007).

Now to the topic. One of the plug-ins for the SCOPE platform is the Solaris, a modular synth from the guru John Bowen. John Bowen is now transforming the Solaris into a keyboard. He has teamed up with SonicCore to make this keyboard.

This is what Hans Zimmer says of John Bowen:

"If anyone out there can take what we love about the elusive quality of analogue synthesizers and add the inventiveness and versatility that we get from digital, it'll be John. There is no question in my mind he understands that fundamentally the sound has to be true and uncompromised for a bunch of circuits to turn into a musical instrument. There are many synths out there that are fun and even inspiring. But it takes a certain magic and voodoo, a certain set of ears and sonic heart to build something lasting, something timeless."

Quickly about John Bowen. He was involved in Moog and also in the development of Prophet 5, Prophet VS, T-8, Korg Wavestation series, OASYS PCI etc, and of course, Pulsar/SCOPE.

News out in HC. Website: http://www.johnbowen.com/

This is something that may interest lowjk since he is using the SCOPE platform. Knowing Creamware stuffs, and seeing John Bowen is behind this, we should be anticipating some really great analog sounds from this keyboard.

Don't think so. But lowjk will know better since he is using SCOPE and he probably have the software version of Solaris.

No, I don't.
Seems nice, like a new OB Matrix-12.

Reviving an old thread here. John Bowen himself giving a demo of his Solaris keyboard during Musikmesse 08. The Solaris had been announced for quite a while and it appeared it went into hibernation. It seems that it's very much alive and ready to be out soon (hopefully - he announced it to be September this year). MRSP 2999EUR (including VAT).

Something Sonicbrat will love to have...
