Hi fellow softies,
Please be careful of this user chewkhd. He is currently selling a Timbre SR200 sunburst strat.

A brief overview of what happened:
I msged him to ask about the guitar as I was interested in it. I asked him when I could test it and he told me I cannot test it because his amp is sold. I asked if it was possible to test at my house but he said no.

The next day, I requested to meet as I was genuinely interested. He claimed the guitar is in good condition. I asked what if there were problems with the pickups, electronics or what if I was not satisfied with the tone of the guitar. He replied there would be strictly no refund and *ahem* thanked me for my interest.

After that, I replied and tried calling him but there was no reply. I would suggest fellow softies beware of him because he does not allow testing of the guitar and also because of his attitude.

Fleaa, thanks for the info, but seriously you do not need to publish such stuffs publicly.

It is not as though he made you go all the way down to his place, then put you aeroplane or sold you a piece of lemon right?

From what I deduce, you are just angry he don't allow you to test the guitar & that he do not reply you after that.

At the end of the day, any harm done to you or your pocket? No. So let it go. Such things happen everyday and there are already a million threads like this floating and fading away.

i think one of the reason why a rating system might not work here is also partly due to the type of people we are/can be...

cant get things our way, we "feedback".

cant agree with what others way of handling things, we "feedback"

no lost of time or money even though there wasnt any transaction, we still "feedback"

heh, even if theres rating system, i think it will be more funny and entertaining reading the "feedback" instead...

I do agree a thread may be unnecessary, but thats because I was unable to post a reply in his selling thread.

Anyway, I am not angry. Its more of getting people to be aware.

Cheers to all.

perhaps you have not realised the tone of the title for the thread and why some think didnt understand you..

from the title, its actually sound like the other party has done something wrong, harmful and cheated you of something. When in fact theres nothing other then no testing. Even if in real world, theres no basis or ground to ask anyone to be careful of anyone when theres no immediate harm or known threats.

Anyway, theres no need to warn others of such thing. As long anyone is interested to get the instrument and gotten in contact with the seller, they will find out the same thing as you did.

If you wanna post bout it, then wait till you got cheated bout the deal, got a damaged geetar, seller refused to communicate with you after whatever you have done(police report, multiple calls/sms night and day), then yes, we should be careful of such seller.

imho
