Snare skin help !!!

I was just wondering if we could put hydraulic skins on snare batter side.

I tried an ebony pinstripe on my snare before and... well, I liked it at first but as time progressed I soon really hated it. Too dry I guess?

the ebony pinstripe is only the batter heads rite and not the reso rite?

Ebony for reso only if the snare is 8" deep. It does give a much controlled tone. Some has tried using the coated head as reo and found to like it. Once again, there is no right or wrong in drums setup.

It's not recommended because it will sound kind of choked. But if that's the sound you're looking for, go for it

diff heads give diff sounds its all up to your preference! check the webs out to see what is warm what is focused and etc etc

wat kind of music do u play? if ur playing rock or heavy bashing type music, pinstripe does well, gives u a nice smack. if ur a jazzer something with a coated head for brushes.
this is general though, go do some research on wat ur fav drummers are using
