was a HUGE, HUGE fan of the pumpkins. #1 favourite of all time during my teenaged years. Mellon Collie, Siamese Dream + favourites.

But this album, I don't know. It kinda.. lacks something.

It's missing James Iha and D'arcy. Though they're mostly eye candy to the band, they did give the pumpkins a very unique image. Like magic indie!

And corgan... he was best when was angsty and dissatisfied. ZWAN was quite horrible, his solo album worse. This album is marginally better but nowhere near as good as the original pumpkins

i think the 2 new pumpkins players do fit in quite well sumhow. caught their live vids on youtube. the new bassist, ginger, is quite an eye candy as well.

zeitgeist definitely ranks higher than machina for me. siamese dreams and melon collie is still tops tho. the layered vox is quite nice for certain songs. grows on you the more you listen to it. of course, as with the other pumpkins album, the guitar tone is top notch billy style.

watched their live act on youtube, Ginger's voice compliments Billy's pretty well.

their new song DoomsDay clock was in the transformer soundtrack.

Theyre back to their heavy style again.. i cant wait for zeitgeist.. cant you?

i received at advanced copy at work about a week back. All I can say is don't expect -too- much, though it's not a bad album. But the rest of it doesn't really sound that much like doomsday clock or tarancula.

got the album, nice songs but the production abit of a let down. The vocals on some seems to be abit "detached" from the backing tracks.

I heard Doomsday Clock while the movie was going on and spotted Jimmy Chamberlin's drumming immediately. He is such a powerhouse! Good to know that at least one thing has remained constant in this lineup.

i dunno much about comparisons with precious albums, or eye candy, or solo projects, or wateva

but i'm jus glad the pumkins are back, i'm listening to them now...

you mean theres more audible basslines and better rhythm guitars? :lol:
