Sliding

I've got some tabs and I've got a rough idea how to play them, but I wanna make sure.

the last two notes, I dunno slide to where.. :/

Then this one is like slide down from nowhere or something..

How to slide from one string to another? o_O I think it works the same as the above one?

And lastly, how to slide to a muted string?

The first picture should mean sliding towards your headstock or the "0" fret, as to sliding how many fret's distance, it all depends on the song. You can add your own feelings to it too by sliding with different speeds and distance. Trial and error for me.

It's the same for the 2nd picture, just that you start off at a fret (eg. "2") earlier than "10", then slide towards and stop at "10".

Last picture would mean to slide first, then lift your fingers up to mute the 2 strings and use your pick to strike for the muted sound.

I'm still learning too, so correct me if I'm wrong :), but I'm quite sure thats what those notations mean.

I can't see the images, but:

1. Slide from an arbitary point. The place where you slide from is less important as the timing that is involved from sliding. (The same goes for sliding to nowhere...)
2. It's either an error in tabbing, or you "slip" and slide from one string to sliding on to the next string.
3. Slide, then release your fret such that you only touch but not fret the note. (You may need to pluck, depending on the song/tab involved.)

Thanks, gotta practice on those techniques. I don't think the changing strings one is an error coz I see it quite a few tabs also.

Just look at the slope of the 'slides'...

If the slopes are going upwards, that means you have to slide up from a lower fretto THAT particular fret.

If slopes are going downwards, means you have to slide down from a higher fret to that particular fret.

Doesn't matter which frets you slide from, as Thor has mentioned. Just take note of the timing.

As for the third picture, it should be just a coincidence that the tip of the slope is pointing towards the note in the other string...
