We have skate park in the 90s but not like in orchard that kind....it was at the national stadium peoples association...

I wonder if spitfire still sells skateboards stuffs.

Do wear your safety gears if you skate tough.. i witness a friend of mine broke his WRIST and i hearead the sound when it broke....oooouch!

eh, same thing happened for me. friend of mine skated down a long slope and broke his wrist. we had to get him an anbulance...those were the days. used to skate alot at PA and stadium too. heh

yeah man i wanna get my ass back to street skating. bloody govenment tore down our pathetic lil skate park at town n its nothing but a field right now. ugh. one time, i injured my left leg quite badly, the whole leg tured purple over time. like the veins turned purple cuz of the lack of oxygen or some shit like that. i went to the doc n he said i was lucky to come in time cuz any later my left leg wld be 'dead' and i wld have to amputate it. so he gave me some jab n i was like 'shit.' and then the next few days aft my leg turned back to its normal colour i went back to skatin heh. man the gd old skate spots were like douby gout mrt, raffles cdb n citilink. damn i miss douby gout's curbs..!

i used to skate for a short while in the late 89-91. i bought most of my stuff from Go-Sports in Margaret Drive. (Santa Cruz board with Independent trucks, can't remember the wheels or bearings) the owners Eddy Go and the auntie (his wife) are great ppl. the shop is still there and they can still remember me after all these years! i shunt Spitfire (Peninsula) then coz there were too many skaters outside of their shop then and it terrifies and intimidates me then. but the funny thing is two of the guys that worked there are great friends of mine now!

i'll recommend Go-Sports as both Eddy and his wife are able to help u with stuff. Spifire is great too, the younger guys (are skaters as well i think) will most probably be able to help with choosing stuff/brands etc. Miz-29 at Queensway is taken cared by Bobo (old skool skater) and there used to be one at Tampines (dunno if its still there) is taken care by Tudong (old skool too!) they should be great too.

nowadays i usually just cruise around my area on gradual slopes on a longboard (look at the pic). sometimes with my wife! used to look for steep slopes in bukit timah and holland private estates to bomb! now too old and afraid. a few of my surfer friends even drive to Fort Canning for the steep slopes! i don't have the balls to follow suit tho! hahhahahha...

i like the bedok skate park alot. the one next to the library. although theres a need to wear helmet but it really doesnt bother me. but then somehow it seems every community confirm got unfriendly people. you just got to agree, even in music.

but you all ever realise 1 thing.. everytime after skating you'll smell so bad no girls wanna be near you, even your gf.. haha it happened to me during my skating days.. take bus, nobody wanna sit beside.. then your jeans start to tear, shirt start to tear, gotta occasionally change shoes due to tear. hahha but it was all worth while..

eh.. selling my status setup for $150, very lightly used, no grind marks. pics available and i don't want to post this in the classifieds cos it's just look plain weird. interested please pm :)

hahah NOT getting hurt or stinky is a faux pas in these sports. tho falling 20 feet off a' tailwhip attempt n landing on my butt cracking an area slightly n the tire of my bmx under my crotch was enuff to get my prnts to bar me frm ridin. tht was at bdk. b4 the time tht place got raided with shoebees.

I managed to get back on skatin a few mths back tho. Quit again. Wanna start riding after O's. N face my past  And tell my mom the guy tht died frm a barspin during x games qualifiers here was sadly one of the very few. If i die i'd die frm a triple tailwhip or nothing backflip bt pls not a barspin or a kickflip. May God Forgive Me ah. Hey guys if ye want help/info with these things there r loads of skateboard forums ard

Yes and bearings i'd recommend speed demons too. get abec 5. dont go for 7. u need somethin median-line. Beginner truck, destructo wont fit u thtz what i can tell ye. Nor will a heavy truck. And u dont have to spend over 200 bucks. ard the 160 to 180 price range is sweet enuff. for the board get powell blank. n make sure not too small not too long/wide. Size does matter for boards. Other stuff like grip tape, nuts, etc i hope u dont forget

im not a skater, but from what i heard, spitfire should be like the best place to get your gear. sponge sells fancy decks that are too expensive.
