<Closer To Me>, a short film by local filmmaker Ray Pang has been shortlisted for the Jury 's awards and People's Choice award of Louis Vuitton's second edition Journey Awards contest. Headed by Luca Guadagnino, the contest call upon emerging filmmakers to interpret through film the subject of encounters and what it means to them.
Nominated alongside with international entries from France, Japan, Africa and the USA, Ray Pang, writer and director of the above shortlisted film is the only Singapore filmmaker to be shortlisted - "We are proud to be the ambassador for Singapore. We represent Singapore's diverse heritage and emerging creative talents in this contest. Our entry will allows us the opportunity to bring aspiring filmmakers closer to the dream of Singapore becoming a creative media hub. I am delighted that we are being recognized by Louis Vuitton's Journey Awards. This independent, external recognition is testament to the potential of local filmmakers and the possibilities that we can achieve for our country." -Ray Pang
