I'm a creative guitarist & a visionary music educator.
Here I want to share about the instrument we all love.
Guitar's a very unique instrument with unique function & with various ways to play it.
It can be a good harmony & melody instrument to support the band :
In the case that we don't have a bass player guitar can be a good solo rhythm section (bass line, chords) to accompany singer :
It can be a creative orchestral instrument too when you play everything in 1 guitar (bass line, chords & melody) :

I think it's very important to know the concepts in learning music. Creativity is about making "solution" by mix & match-ing concept after concept to get more and more artistic goal. There's concept in scale, harmony, skill, seeing fingerboard, seeing how the band works, etc.
I teach my students by sharing & revealing concepts in music, especially in guitar playing. Let me know if you're interested.
