Stumbled upon it when I was browsing through Canopus Japan's website. I proceeded to check out their website, but it was under construction. Oh well. I then emailed them. Note: I emailed them at 2.15pm Saturday afternoon, I got a reply from them at 2.30pm. Talk about customer service!

Sean referred me to Marvin and Marvin was real quick in replying to my emails as well. Marvin was very approachable and even invited me to try out his personal RFM kit. He also recommended some of the Canopus products, which I already have plans to purchase. He knows his stuff, and he's very enthusiastic. 5-star service, so far. Not like that douchy uncle in Ranking. Besides, Marvin knows Tempus. Not many local drummers know Tempus. So I like him.

Both are stand-up individuals in their own right - First impression always counts.

Please support them. And by supporting them, I don't mean emailing them to ask for prices, bombard them with question and not reply after. At least have the courtesy to bother to thank them and whatnot. If you plan on being a lovelovelovelovelovelove, forget about it.

Canopus is quality all round. Drums, hardware and service. And there is a price to pay for those, don't say I didn't warn you. It's soooooo worth it, though.

I went to check out the "Q3" review & saw a drummer playing a Canoplus drum kit on youtube. The drum kit did sound very nice indeed!

I'm not if it's Canopus or Canoplus.

Dude, their kits sound amazing!

Never heard of Canoplus - Sound real stupid for a brand of drum. More fitting for an energy drink.

It's great to hear that we have a Canopus dealer in Singapore! Can't wait to get my hands on their hardware and snare wire..... Drums got to wait... no budget for them yet....

Thank you! Finally someone as psyched about Singapore having its own Canopus dealer as me!

YES I'm getting their hardware and snare wires as well. I'm very satisfied with my Tempus Fibreglass so a new Canopus kit can wait till, maybe, next year. HAHA. Anyway, Marvin's way cool. Only just occurred to me last night when I read his email that he's the principal drummer for Summertimes Big Band! Wow!

BebopIggy: If you need Marvin's details (He's in charge of drums for Music Gear), let me know. I will PM you whatever you need. He's not stationed at the shop all day so you have to let him know in advance when you plan to head down.

Canopus is a great sounding Drum. The 1st time I heard it was at Frank Wong Home a long time ago....it was really warm sounding.....and I couldn't believe that a Taiwanese Drum Kit (or a Taiwanese brand) would sound so good..but it was good.

I think it is also not cheap....

If I am correct Kenny Hogan is endorsed by Canopus here in Singapore....(I think so).

Is there a Zelkova in Singapore now?

It would be a dream come true to have this one, but the price really fends me off, though I know its sound is on top of the list among other snares

Canopus is Japanese, not Taiwanese :)

I know at least a couple of dummers in Singapore who has, plays and loves the Canopus snare - and strangely enough - jazzers at that :)

I have been eyeing the Canopus Maple Snare for some time and was waiting for a trip to Japan to get one: http://www.canopusdrums.com/en/drumproducts/maple/snare/index.html. Hear the clip. Hear how distinct the tone is separate from the snare and how it carries and blends through. Awesome !

It is cheapER if you buy it directly in Japan.

Will be checking out music gear soon and hoping that their prices fits my budget.

RudimentalDrummer: Canopus is Japanese, not Taiwanese. Kenny Jogan is indeed a Canopus endorsee. So is Marvin Khoo of Music Gear and Summertimes Big Band.

jEva: No, Music Gear doesn't carry the Zelkova, yet at least. But there are Zelkovas in Singapore. I know a drummer who owns one, and he has a fantastic collection of snares. From a killer band as well.

Softwaremaker: Yup, spot on.

Right now Music Gear only has hardware and snare wires - Those are what I want for now. They're in the process of bringing in the Sword kits and snares.

Oh my shit he's selling his Zelkova? The drummer whom I mentioned earlier with the fantastic collection of snares is DarkCrisp. Was over at his place a while back. Man. I wonder how much he's selling the Zelkova off at?

yes, it'sthe zelkova!!

Hi Jeepers, yes it is me thinking of selling my zelkova.
Well, it didn't come cheap when I bought it in from the US, and it is still in pristine condition. (As Jeepers can probably testify to. *grin* )

Well, my collection of snares is not that extensive as Jeepers mentioned, but decent.
So am thinking of making some space with the sale of this Canopus Zelkova snare of mine, to perhaps get another snare. Not enough space in my room to keep so many snares.

Thinking of a price around the region of 1.6k, but negotiable.
