Since I've been looking for all-in-one recording equipment..

hi thor666, have you gotten anything yet? do update us on your decision.

Ah... I've been too busy to get to any work on guitars or recording equipment for that matter. School work (well, the final one for a while at least).

I got a mp3 player with a quite decent recording function (surprisingly) so I'm going to test that out when I have the time.

The Zoom H2 hasn't come out yet, if it's cheap when it's out I would be very tempted to try one out.

imo the biggest factor would be the mic, try and hunt down a stereo, battery powered one. more headroom, and setting levels low(er) helps. the sony ones that plug directly in tend to pick up abit of HD noise and vibration

It's built in  without an option for external mics, and it probably won't do well.

But what the heck, am going to try it out both at jam studio and home recording just to find out.
