Always customize your own, and do research on the parts on the net first. Their specced computers always are a bit on the shitty side. If you actually do a costing analysis of their costs based on similar parts, the shops actually differ from each other by 80-150 dollars only. The cheapest used to be unlimited, but they've gone down the tubes. Just do one run through SLS to get the price lists and cough up a spreadsheet. Hardwarezone's price list is generally rubbish because most reflects only bundled prices and doesn't give a complete picture.

What bout speakers? Klipsch Promedia 5.1 Ultra will do just fine. Hehe..

Hi!

If you're getting one of those 7200rpm IDE/SATA hard drives, do find a way to back up you important data first, in case the hard drive decides its had enuff. The 7200 IDE stuff has reliability issues...

I hate LCD screens...the picture sharpness is not good enough...plus I can't afford it.....about those 7200 harddrives, what alternatives?

Looks like can afford 2K++ for a systema and cant afford another 500+ for LCD..

He's right to say he cannot afford to buy a 17" LCD. It's nearly 1k. I think the sharpness is better than most CRTs as I'm using one, good for gaming. Samsung 172X.

But I dun think it is fair to say he's wasting our time. It's refreshing for someone here wanting to build a new PC. Seriously, rather than get a single HDD, why not get a 80GB and a 40GB?

Life House..These can be settled at SLS if you go on a Saturday afternoon. SLS selling 17" LCD (Philips and Viewsonic) for S$599..Check HWZ..You must update u r self with technology..Probably.. he may get a good deal if he goes there.

Yup it's relatively cheap at $599. But with such a slow response rate, you will puke when you play FPS, not to mention ghosting. And I seriously doubt you can get DVI connection with it. 16ms is the minimum for fast gaming. As you can see, I do update myself regularly. Peace.
