Silent practice

Greetings friends 8-)

do you have a set-up for silent practice? i think there are members here who need to observe silence during practice especially after the sun sets... if you do observe such a set-up, do share here. i think this would double as a tip for those of us who wish to play but don't need/ can't acquire an amp in the mean time.

my latest set-up:

Guitar-Ibanez TS7-Pocket POD + headphones

my other set up (superseded by the above):

Guitar-Ibanez TS7-Behringer Pre-amp Booster-KORG Ampworks + headphones

what i have in the office:

Guitar-Ibanez TS7-Korg PX4D + headphones

hiya sub, as discussed before with you. Im 1 of those who play "sliently". So thus bought a mac+guitarport. But ur setup i see is even simpler. Pocket pod yeah!!! But how does it sound?? Same as the guitarport or rather gearbox? Another thing is can i hook up the guitar > GT8 > headphones?? Tot of getting a gt8 while im in japan.

Thanks bud

yes, you can connect headphones to the GT8 but you need a plug adaptor for it. if you refer to both my Ampworks/ Pandora units, i'm using a plug adaptor for the headphones simply because the slot there is a 1/4" version, strictly for guitar cables.

i must say that the Pocket POD has the most satisfying tonal manifestation through headphones. the drive/ distortion grade are on par with LINE6's software offerings.

and what is that creative headset suppose to do?
looks like a bluetooth transmitter to the headset, which i of cos dont need as i can freely walk around anywhere and play without it.

Where can I get those things so I dun need to use amp?

I usually wanna practice at nite but cannot cos I dun have that...

can anyone teach me how to get a decent distortion tone by doing this silent practice thingy? cause i dont have an amp(my bro has one)and i dont like playing so loud unless gig cause when i on distortion in my bro amp it goes so loud when i reduce the volume the distortion goes off making it a clean tone so yeah i would love to the the silent practise with a good distortion and nice work with the pod and ts-7 great tone!

the distortion/ drive grade offered by these devices are more than decent through headphones. unlike hearing signals from amplifiers, there's no obligations to turn down anything because it's a matter of your personal tolerance 8-) just don't turn yourself deaf...
