do let me know if you are taking part in this competition, we might wanna film the competition and put it online.

the only thing tt makes me very sad is...they say all participants should be 18 and above...damn...

i guess its 18 and above cos the rewards need a standard of maturity?

can a 15 - 16 yr old kid in singapore espically brace stardom easily?

Just make sure you all have blonde spikey hair, wear make up and sing songs about your exgirlfriend in a hip, popp yet 'unique' way, and you'll win. One headbang and your outt! I bet if somone played Fuel or The Wicker Man they would be labelled as death metal

people, it is a competition. go and win it.

in a competition, there is only ONE goal. win.

if you are interested to just practise and let some of your family+friends listen to your hobby. don't join a competition.

+1 james......

did you guys go to last years power jam finals? they are anything but 'click 5-ish' FYI

I dun fucken geddit... seriously.

First, people complain that there ain't enough band competitions. Second, people complain there ain't band competitions like the scale of Channel U's Superband. Thirdly, people still complain about a band competition which prizes extend more than your average run-of-the-mill band competitions can offer and has a direct influence on a band's future than other band comps out there.

What, you ask?

The power of marketing and promotion. A distro deal with EMI, a management deal with M&M and radio airplay from Power98. Which is worth more to an act's long term career than some cash vouchers for some equipment. All your Dragonforces and Muses milk this machinery more than anything else. Talent can only take you this far. A good manager/ agent takes you further.

Why only pop-rock? No death metal? Boo hoo...

Sales of pop-rock CDs > sales of death metal CDs?

They are looking for a band marketable to the masses, not a niche audience. Wanna win and be rich and famous? Play by their rules.

Watch out for the Raindogs - with their new front woman - band to watch in this year's powerjam....
