hmm we all have different perspectives on guitars , how much value they are worth to us . would you sell off your first guitar , or any of your guitars for that matter?
other than geetar, most of the gear if i do have, if doesnt mean anything when theres no more interest in it. Everything is just a dead product, a witness to the foolishness of G.A.S and a relfelction of the weak feeble mind is us human when fallen to temptation and lust.
I got my first guitar back in 1980, acoustic. Didnt get to sell or keep it as it broke into pieces when I smashed it on a Dog who was biting/attacking my brother.
Got my first electric guitar in 1984, given by a guitar mentor. I gave it back to his family after he hanged himself due to drug-related problems.
My most valued guitar is a korean brand which I bought (from my own salary) back in 1991. Cant remember the brand name but that introduced me to Mr. Floyd Rose and opened my eyes into the wonders of harmonic squeals and dive-bombing.
hmm...i've sold off my 1st guitar without any regrets. before any of you say anything, i shall say that most of my 1st few guitars hold no sentimental value to me as i wasn't that much into guitars at that point of time. so i've seen guitars come and go in my collection.
when i decided to fully dedicate my interest in guitars, i bought myself a cheapo LTD. also bought a few guitars here and there. even when i'm using an ESP now, i've sold off or given away all of my other guitars except for that LTD.
I guess that that guitar really holds sentimental value to me. To me, its not abt your 1st guitar but the 1st guitar that really got you.
remember. its not you who choose the guitar. but its the guitar who choose you..LoL
Definately not my first electric guitar. Classical one can give away lol, the next few that I buy or will buy will have to depend on how close I am to it. If it's hardly used or I find that I don't like using it, then I'll sell off.
