Californian CX2

Neck Joint: Bolt-on

Neck Pickup: Humbucker
Bridge Pickup: Humbucker

then i was thinking of changing the tuners, switch and norbs to gold.. =D

if you like the sound, I dont see why you shouldnt upgrade it to your preference. however if you are worried about resale value in time to come, maybe selling it for something that you'd most definitely keep would be a better option.

well, just imo.

u must ask yourself ...

which part of the guitar do u not like ?
how much do you have to pay to change that part ?

hahaha, i was screwing ard and suddenly wanted a bigsby installed on my les paul, but making new holes in the body = making more holes in my heart

If you liek the guitar then keep it. Sentimental value cannot be replaced by something newer and more expensive.

Hmm.

Perhaps you could try and sell it away, but how much money can you recover from that sale? I honestly reckon you can't make too much considering that asian-made Hamers aren't exactly popular in Singapore.

From what I can derive from your post, you may not be liking the sound too much. This leads to the question regarding which part of your signal chain is not performing up to par, could be your strings (important thing which players often neglect), amp, cables etc

I know it can be confusing but rather if you feel that the pickups are to blame then perhaps try your guitar with a variety of amps and verify the issue.

Modifying your guitar could allow you to improve the sound, but bear in mind that polishing a turd isn't always the best way forward.

i was also thinking of that.. even if i sell away wont get much.. in the end i need to topup alot of a new guitar.. im using ax1500g with spiderII amp..

btw issit easy to change the tuners and the knobs? thanks AzNjT lol.. i already change the bridge and the pickup cover to gold.. and i cant seem to find the pickup height screw.. mine is sooo rusty

if you really love the feel of this guitar, i dont see a reason not to mod it..
if ur looking into selling it again though, i dont think it'll be worth it.. maybe its time to move on with a better one?
do note that modding isnt an easy task... as u cant like- try your guitar, dislike it and send the pickup back, etcetc. and if u feel insecure with modding it, just get a new one...

let your skills do the judging on how much to spend yea?

btw when we buy pickups from the shop do they provide fixing? usually how much a pair of humbucker cost ? plus fixing? thanks alot guys

Different brands and models of pickups got different price tag. Fixing of pickups also got different price tags for different people to fix up. Bring your guitar down to ebenex and look for Beez. Ask him for a quote on how much it'll be to do up your whole guitar.
