Should I swap my Epiphone SG for a Swing EZ100?

he he bro... we can raise pitch using the whammy pedal as well...

hmmm but i'm not one to use pedals unless i've got a shitty amp lol. but it sounds funny on the up pitch from what i see on youtube...guess u cant really get those massive effects from this one haha

Heh, did you watch gearmandude's demo on the digitech whammy as well?

The whammy can get you greater range of "wham" tones. I think the funny sound you hear could be a result of whamming the note to an extremely high pitch. I believe that a whammy, when used with a smaller range can yield a similar natural whamming effect to a whammy bar.

I am using the whammy on a boss gt-10 and i like it. I heard the digitech whammy is good but it is expensive and sucks tone due to the bypass. Maybe if you are interested in going into effects you could consider multieffect units. Most have built in pedals which allow you to do wah wah, whammy etc. I think the Zoom G2,G7 series would satisfy any first time multieffect users

:D

If your floyd rose is giving u problems u can consider blocking the trem, either using a tremlok system or u can simply add a block to restrict the movement of your trem. You can get instructions pictures etc of tt online :D

Icic. Then which multi effects pedal should get if I were to compare the zoom G7, vox tonelab ST and Pod xt?

PodXT is the standard for a multi-efx IMHO. I have a XT Live and i'm loving it. Tried the ToneLab ST before, good tones and very portable, but i found the effects a little wanting, in terms of sterility. I think its just me being anal, but for sure the PodXT's effects sounded better.

I got the boss gt-10, i think the distortion amp tones are not the best(before tweaking) , effects wise there is very good modulations and wah, whammy etc.

I dun really like the pitch shifter though, i think its really lousy as compared to what i had on a zoom G2 unit though hahah

I had a zoom G2.1u once, effects were generally ok. They were prominent but not very tweakable, eg flanger phaser etc. Distortion sounds were great for high gain, great noise gate, but there was kind of a very stratchy sound when playing solos, could be my fault though, too much gain or too high noise gate threshold etc lol. I never really tried using the whammy function on that as i didnt really know i had a WHAMMY in that thing then ... DAMN

I believe that u can consider the zoom g9 too, distortion sounds are definately going to a good with a preamp tube to warm up your guitar input and a postamp tube to warm up your sound going into the amp/mix. That pedal can allow you to do whammy+wah at the same time, but the quality of the foot pedal may be dissapointing as i have seen from reviews, like it may become squeaky after prolonged usage.

kiko loureiro demoing the whammy+wah feature

I heard POD x3 even better than POD xt and somemore it has vocal n bass preamps, do check that out too :D

I suppose I'll wait for the year end sales that'd definitely yield some affordable options for me.

Also, I would I like to ask about the differences between multieffects like the pod X3 and standalone pedals like the ibanez TS-9 and such.

Thanks! :)

Technically, there's a huge amount of difference in the way the sounds are produced (analog vs digital) but in reality, the quality of digital processing has made the difference very very minimal, in fact for myself, a very anal person when it comes to tone, i only find the distortions to be a wee bit thin-sounding. You'd want to google the analog pedals vs digital multiefx debate, hell lot of info.
