Should i change strings?

Hi, i've just switched to playing the Epi Dot and find that the strings tend to cut into my fingers more. Is this due to the bridge being too high or the strings being too thick? I don't get this problem when playing the bass. Anybody can help? Thanks!

what's the height from the 12th fret to the 'bottom' of the string at the 12th fret? it could be due that the action is too high

Hi sleepykitty, its about 3mm after i lowered the bridge but the strings still cut in, esp if I play chords....
