get the guy's gibson pups he's selling here

+100000000000000000000 haha. it's a good deal.. cheaper than most other replacement pickups. i can give you a better price if you deal quick.

Y do you wana change pickups? Most important is the pedals, amps, amp config. you could try tweaking your pedals & amp. After all, it may not be the pickups fault. I regret changing my JS1000 stock pups. That was yrs back. After yrs of experimenting & asking ques, I realise that pedals & amp config make load of difference.

the procedure which would yield a better tonal result would be to switch amp. if you own a good amp, swapping pickups would be less necessary.

well depends la

amp if u use ur amp for gigs and prac
pickups if u use ur friends amp

if the stock pickups suck, no matter how good the amp is the tone is still 'restricted' by the pickups, right? so change la.

you have no idea what your talking about.

Bring your epi play it through a crappy ss practice amp. sounds like crap play that same guitar through a good tube amp suddenly it sounds so much better.

change your pups and play through that crappy ss amp it still sounds like shit.

The amp plays the single most important part in your signal change. You want the most significant improvement, change your amp. Pup changes are subtler.

+1 to ciel.

daryl, its the OTHER way round.

Crap amp restricts most of the tone of the guitar. Of course pups play a part, but its minimal compared to the amp.

HOWEVER... in this day, amps are USUALLY adequte. So.. what does this... threadstarter play thru?

Or is he looking for an affirmation to a decision he has already committed to?

daryl, ur efforts in "pushing" your pups for a sale is commendable.

Things to note, in order of priority and if situation allows....it's amp then the pickups. If all else fails, it should be the player himself.

guitariste: you're not sure of what kind of tones you should be looking for, how do we advise what pickups for you to change to? Maybe spend more time with the current setup and see what you actually need.

i meant that if your pickups are weak and muddy the resultant tone will not be that good eh. even though the amp is the most crucial factor, the pickup affects the tone too.

well i believe that i do have a point, i'm not blindly pushing for the sale of my pickups. i'll stop posting in this thread whatever.

Correct... i believe thats what Ciel, Edo and I have mentioned... the pups do affect tone.... its just how much, and how much of a change the threadstarter wants to achieve.

Again, in this day, pups too are usually adequate.

okay last post.

firstly, you need to spend more to change your amp compared to changing pickups. some people dont believe in good tone for home use so why splurge on that amp?

secondly, we dont know his scenario well. maybe he just wants good tone in the jamming/recoridng studio. for that, he would need to change his pickups, no? and ive heard and experienced epi pickups being overmuddy.

dont come climbing over me and accusing me of pushing for the sale of my pickups, its just plain rude.

hey daryl...bro..

seriously..i dun tink ur pushing for the sale of ur pickups..NOT AT ALL...

i do realise..ur juz telling the fellow mate here to change his pickups..and i agree with u..stock epiphone pickups are crappy..i hate them lots.

chill bro daryl..maebe u might wanna take ur words back ("i'll stop posting in this thread whatever.")
