Shoe Attack

BBC news has a better video, you can see him grinning after the first duck. Age has been kind to the President's reflexes!

In the Arab world, the soles of the shoe is the ultimate insult.

That's why when Saddam's statue was toppled, the first thing the Iraqi crowd did was to slap the statue's face with the soles of their shoes.

Haha the day that happened and it was aired, I was really shocked at his reflexes. THOSE GIFS ARE F**KING HILARIOUS!!

But yeah, his reflexes is rather awesome, his smirk after that was just classic Bush.

And HecklerKoch, these Iraqis better make up their mind, first they toppled Saddam's statue then slap his statue face with the soles of their shoes, then now they want to throw shoes at Bush (who made it possible to topple that statue in the first place)....I really am confused about Iraq's stand over things sometimes. They were so adamant in Saddam's downfall, but now they hate Bush? Smells like pop culture to me.

Hmm... maybe it's because after so many donkey years, people are still getting killed in Iraq, including friendly forces and Iraqi innocents?

With the fact that some Iraqis still do not welcome the occupation, and still are sore over the fact that a lot of their loved ones lost their lives when the friendly forces bombed indiscriminately in the name of weeding out the hostiles and looking for the non-existing WMDs, people are not really jumping for joy.

The Iraqi police forces are having trouble controlling their own people, and anybody deemed to be very good friends of the US and its allies are still getting murdered everyday. This is the result of the extremists and the insurgents from Iran and Syria, and there's still the secterian violence. Don't forget about the Al-Qaeda.

The Kurds want independence, while Sunni and Shi'ite Arabs want to take control over whole of Iraq.

Saddam Hussein may have been brutal, but he kept the various factions of the Iraqi people in check. Look at them now! Thousands have left their homes, either through fear of attack or bombings. Some have left the country. Others live in tent cities. There are thousands of orphans and people blown apart by bombs. There is little electricity, clean water, all of the things Bush promised them.
