Hi guys, in case any of u were wondering, my replacement snare just came in tonight.
The warped snare that i have been previously complained about is purely cosmetic and doesnt affect sound or tuning. I learnt this after reading up about the use of flanged hoops, and also by experimenting with my snare sound. It seems perfectly able to handle both fat and cranked tuning with ease.
The way the drum was manufactured also plays a big part in the shape of the snare. Somehow the way the lugs are tightened during manufacturing plays a part in shaping the shell; just like how the tightness of the lugs can shape/misshape drum skins. My problem of having a "wobby" drum seems to have improved after i took everything off and re-tuned it like i would normally.

After spending much effort and money changing the skins and tuning up the snare, I have decided to keep the old one. C:
In any case, you guys should know that musiciansfriend.com are big on having good customer service and it was them who responded to my queries and not the customer service from mapex.
I will be selling my newly shipped one away with a little discount on the SOFT ADS section in case anyone is interested.
Thanks for looking.
