Hey guys i was thinking of purchasing a guitar online.. so yea other thn the shipping fee which is around 160plus <--- i used the vpost calculator for thiss.. anw are there any other additional fees to be made?
somehow locally the guitar cost around 2650 but buying it off the net cost 2300+..
and are there anything to look out for? there seems to be stories of guitar getting damaged by the time it reaches your door step :(

GST. And if you are so worried about the guitar being damaged, save yourself the worry and buy the item in Singapore, don't buy online.

not much dealers here sadly :( the cheapest alternative so far that i found is still getting it from the states.. hmm now that you mention it, including the gst it really isnt worth the hassle to get it online

how's that possible? i was looking at musiciansfriend anw.. but thn again i heard they dont ship outta the states.. i guess i'll just pay that hundred bux more to cut down on all the hassle...

how about music123.com???
do they ship to SG? still need pay anything besides the cost of the guitar? (eg. Tax, Shipping)
But since it says on the website it ships for free.

Sry if i sound like i'm totally blur of this shipping thing. But i am. & i might get a guitar online since it's cheaper :)
any help??

it depends on what you wish to ship over, some guitars have distribution restriction, one such example is GIBSON...
music123, i have tried asking, they only ship some alien brands...

I was actually thinking of a particular fender strat.. but well i guess im better getting it off a local store.. though its alil more expensive but atleast i wouldnt by any chance be getting a damaged product

if american ones i would high recommend bgw if not sv, but sv has a limited choice while you can get bgw to ship in the model of choice.. while if its the jap fenders i only know of sound alchemy and davis guitars who brings them in

davis got fender meh i thought is swee lee :o

if order through musiciansfriend must get them to deliver to vpost in usa. then from vpost usa to vpost singapore. :o

but yea buy locally better cos i can accompany you

sweelee i believe they have the american ones but due to the pricing many would prefer other alternatives... and yea davis have jap fenders..

There. you said it yourself. Get Brendon to bring it in. Saves you the hassle of shipping, plus iirc, he gets them cheaper than we do... So some cost is already offset.

never knew there was the gst factor until someone mentioned on this thread.. otherwise it's a few hundred bux cheaper.. but after the gst charges.. i guess its better to get brendon to do it instead..

Just find a friend who lives in the states but is visiting Singapore soon... So many Singaporeans go overseas to work/study now so you probably know at least one person who is currently in the US. Christmas is coming up so if you can wait you can probably snag a holiday discount and your friend will probably be returning to Singapore.
