Hi guys,

i have ordered some tru oil from amazon for a guitar restoration project.

i was planning to use my regular courier service from borderlinx to ship the item back to singapore. However, upon receiving the product, they have classified it as prohibited from shipping. My guess is that it is a flammable product and therefore the classification.

For those that have shipping tru oil back to singapore, would you have any advise for me?

Thank you for reading this !

usually, for oil/flammable and most products classified as DG(Dangerous Goods), the sender will need to provide MSDS(material safety data sheet) to the courier company, who will then verify if the product is safe for air transport. this is usually done before the items are handed over to the courier company for shipper.

manufacturer of the product will have the MSDS. hope this helps.

btw which courier company are you using?

hi fezz,

i am using borderlinx as my courier company. i tried talking to the customer service people but they stand firm on the matter so i guess there is nothing much i can do about it :C

perhaps i would have to find alternatives in singapore with tung oil or natural lacquers. Any suggestions on where i would be able to source for these ? :D

sorry bro, I'm totally clueless about tung oil or natural lacquers. :p maybe the other users can help. =)
