Shipping an Amp Head

I'm sure some of the member here have shipped amps in from States. Care to share roughly how much shipping costs?

I was ready to pay extra for shipping for the amp head, but was quoted USD$600 for the shipping and I'm not sure if that's about right.. Thinking to go VPost instead.

i paid 250us to ship an amp head, 325us for a 2x12 cab, both via fedex. fast and smooth.
i was told that weight wouldn't matter because shipping charges by the volume.
600 i think is too much.....i got a similar quote though by the amp house. i think they charge a bit high compared to others.

you can always ask them to quote using fedex or usps-gxg.

$600 is definitely way too much. I was quoted 255USD for Canada and 200USD from USA.

Trying to get him to quote from FedEx and USPS GXG. Hopefully it'll go down abit...

germino himself told me so. as he shipped the amp himself. the price was reasonable though. 250usd for a head.
you'll be surprised other companies quoted a shipping cost of 750usd....and that is shipping only to Singapore Airport and not door to door delivery

that's the difference- shipping by individual vs shipping by a business entity.

Valuable info guys, I'm still looking at the possibility of shipping the amp head in. Worst case is to go with VPost if FedEx or USPS or whatever is insanely expensive.

bro- which amp is this? if you are not comfortable in letting it be known here, please PM me... a Gibson SG was shipped to me before & its volumetric weight is definitely more than your amp head )i'm guessing)- but it cost me less than $600...
