Many people recommend me SD JB & '59 combi, but I still dunnoe what sound it will produce.

Anybody wld like to enlighten me abit?

proceed to swee lee & try the Fender Showmaster HH (Mex) which has a Duncan '59 as a default neck pickup. the bridge isn't a JB, but Duncan's Pearly Gates Plus model which makes an impressive pairing here.

I assume the 59 is for the neck, right?

I use a SD Pearly Gates on the bridge and SD 59 on the neck for my McCarty.

Its a versatile combination though the 59 neck is slightly bassy on rythm for my liking. On the other hand, when I'm playing low on the neck, the 59 pickup adds just the right fatness.

The Pearly Gates could be another alternative for you if your playing Les Paul styled guitars. Its tighter sounding and suits the classic rock style well.

That said, the JB has a lot of positive reviews as well. Pity you can't try both and return the one you didn't like.

ymmv

The pearly gates + is essentially a normal pearly gates humbucker with an alnico 5 magnet. The regular pearly gates humbucker should come in both neck and bridge models.

The very mention of this pickup brings to mind Billy Gibbons, with his outstandingly sweet crunchy tone :D [/code]

or alternatively u may also wanna try the 59 bridge, to match its neck counterpart... its my favourite bridge pickup currently
