i pair mine with SD Parallel Axis Trembucker.

Invader neck- not recommended.

unless you have an excessively bright sounding guitar which will help prevent ill definition once the neck Invader is in use, especially at high gain/ drive settings.

you are better off with something that is of contrasting nature in the neck to differentiate your tone upon switching pickups when in play.

i have the Full Shred in the neck of my guitar which features the Invader (b):

You can try a jazz.. or a 59. Both these pickups will balance out pretty well..

In fact the Jazz really is the consumate neck humbucker. Very well defined. Notes dont musshy up.

i have get results with the following neck Duncans:

*Jazz
*Alnico II Pro
*Distortion

i used to have the '59 but i prefer the Lil' '59 instead 8)

Depends on what type of music you play.
Alnico II pro neck works fine on my sg. Do lots of rock stuff, it provides a really warm and "full" sound. Used to have problems with it being a little muddy but sort that out after figuring out my tri ac :D

I think some of you guys got it all wrong!!!

This guy has a I-N-V-A-D-E-R !!!! HEAVY heavy heavy. uber hi-output and you want him to match it to a AlnicoII??? Jazz???

Go with a Dimebag or another Invader. Even a distortion would sound wimpy with a Invader

my take on this matter is strictly through experience.

many would assume that a high output humbucker like the Invader would only be suitable with another high output unit- not exclusively.

the Invader works quite well with medium/ lower output counterparts, the Jazz in particular. i've also had good results pairing the Distortion (High output) with the '59 (vintage output).

the invader is not as heavy as you think...you make it out as if it sounds like a cranked metalzone on a clean channel. pickup height adjustments do wonders for balance...

i'd go with '59 or jazz.

sub, why do you prefer the little 59?

the jazz/invader is a popular combo. go with the jazz neck. dont be fooled by the name, it works great for high gain stuff too.

by the way the invader isnt uberly high output at all..

we're still with neck pickups yes?

well the Lil '59 isn't vintage voiced + it has more midrange so it isn't a direct replication of the full-sized '59. sounds sweet clean & driven.

Limp you got it wrong man. You don't smack a high output pup at the neck, simply because the output at the neck is higher than the bridge. You will have a hard time balancing the pups! A moderate output pup is more than enough to get lovely creamy leads. Want to get all hot and searing? Switch to the bridge.

The invader not high output?

Ok.. gentle correction.. It is high output.. Around EMG levels.
