Can anyone tell me wad do u guy mean by guitar setup? when u bought a new guitar wad do u need to setup?

setup is like
Lowering the action of the guitar (the height of the string from the fretboards) .
Stabilise the floyd rose(if u have one).
Stabilise the neck (if its bending backwards or forward) .
yup all setup is done to ur preference..

aniwae can't thing anymore of guitar setup...

so this is all i know ...

setup is fine tuning the guitar top suit your style and feel. and also ensuring that everything is perfect on the guitar.

and as bloodsolo said, stabilising the floyd, ensuring neck straightness.

bloodsolo, not everyone wants to go for low action though, imo, slightly higher action (which reduces string contact with other frets) improves clarity.

with regards to low action, its really up to individual preference.

I dont like how some guitar techs setup guitars coz sometimes they dont even ask how you want it done, they just assume things.

so learn everything urself thru friends, books, internet and try them out urself. it will help save u lots of cash and u get the satisfaction of doing it yourself.
