Right....So you guys wanted a review of the C-1 FR eh?Here goes.
First thing i noticed right away when i sat down and played the C-1 in Guitar77 was the thin neck.I was thinking "Whoa this is a thin neck!I mean, thin!" I actually felt that it was thinner than any other guitars i've tried, including Ibanez and their "paper thin wizards".I said to Rui,"Man this neck is quite thin eh?" And he said "Yeah. You like thin necks eh."
The feel of the guitar was spot on for me,really feels like it's made to measure.Action wise,if you all wanna know,it's pretty low,but not too low till there's fret buzz when you hit the strings. But then again, feel of a guitar's up to the individual.Try it yourself to get an idea whether you like the feel or not.I obviously do.
Now comes the tone.I was using Rui's amp rig to test drive the C-1,and it almost blasted my head off.I played the riff of Seek and Destroy,(i was told by my dad that Rui was headbanging while i played that riff
) The River, and the solo in Gunslinger.Really sweet tone, harsh when you need it and when the pickups are changed to both the neck and bridge pickups it's really cool for soloing. For me,at least. For the Licensed Floyd Rose part,i play jrock now so i dun use it much, but back when i was still young and headbanging(LOL i'm only 17) i used the tremolo bar quite often, and it NEVER goes out of tune.Never ever. You can abuse the damned thing as much as you like and it never ever fails you.Oh yeah, some of you mentioned the Duncan Designed pickups, for metal it's great, seriously, unless you dun like it or have too much money, dun change.Maybe you can upgrade to SD Invaders, that's cool, but the Duncans work well for me,although now i think the Duncan's a bit too harsh for jrock, but nevertheless,i haven't and dun think i'm going to change the pickups.Clean tone wise, really clean,no complaints.
Now the finishing and looks on the guitar.Mine's black, with a gloss finish.I've had it for around 7 months,no scratches whatsoever, and i'm talking heavy strumming and at times accidentally dragging my pick across the area where a pickguard is,but there's no pickguard on this guitar, obviously.
That's about it.Do tell me if y'all have anymore questions bout the C-1 FR,great guitar at a great price for a Schecter,do give it some serious consideration.
I hope Schecter pays me,i'm like their effing salesman here lol.
