Hmm maybe can go down and pick up some tips from the experts! If there will be someone playing the cajon, that will be awesome. :D

I'll be going down with my friend and my 3 god brothers. My friend and i will be playing the Cajon, and i'll also be playing the Djembe, together with my brothers, who had their Djembes made in Niger, and where they lived for 6 yrs, and learnt to play hand percussion there.

Cheers and Regards,
Nick

Dear Friends,

As this event is about Music and Rhythm, getting EVERYONE involved, also great for de-stressing and for recharging, we have also managed to invite some intellectually disabled firends to join us. Such participatory activities are common in USA and Europe and are proven to benefit the sick, the disabled and even the handicapped.

Pls spend your weekend evenings with us and with everyone present.

Bring more drums!

Boon

Thanks to James for his good report on the gigs/concerts page.

There were in fact alot of drummers there but there was also a lot of non-drummers there. The ppl just came from the streets while shopping.

On the first day, there was about 20 intellectually disabled kids that came also. Everyone should have been there to see them dancing and the joy on their face when they were drumming!

This event was truly for everyone!

The intellectually disabled kids had such a good time doing the activities that they have never experienced. Many ppl were moved to tears while seeing that... and through the drumming and 300 ppl doing one thing in unison, it created such a harmony amongst ALL the particpants.

As Christine said: The Drum Circle is a collective group of people in which everyone has a personal self expression. Drumming or Dancing is secondary. I, as a "over-educated" drummer have learnt so much just by being in the circle! My life is changed...

Thanks to everyone from SOFT that came. See you guys at the preliminaries of Drum Challenge Asia and Singapore BAND challenge @ Youth Park on 12 July 2008.

Boon

videos coming up.

Kudos and grats to Boon. I personally enjoyed myself a lot! Had a great time jamming and playing with people like Brandon Khoo, Mohd Noor and other artists that came down for the drum circle! Excellent event!
