scales

>>haha cliffs of dover...i've heard it before...wow how i wish i can play that...

You can if you grew an extra head on top of your shoulder, two fingers on your right hand and another four on your left hand. This is one reason why I believe that God is sort of angry with us. ;-)

its only in some parts you do a hammer on. if its a solo, a hammer on is a must, and pull offs too.

i practiced this when i was new to hammer ons and pull offs

---------5h7p5--------------
-----5-7--------7------------

the pull off might not seem so prominent at first, but with practice you'll get it. ;)

You use all that you know. Hitting single notes or hammer-ons, pull-offs all emit different emotions. You should really stop trying to make rules for yourself. It seems to me that that's what you'll end up doing by asking questions such as this.

You must know that a hammer-on sounds different from hitting each note cleanly right? Rules are for fools.

Just learn. Play. Learn. Play. etc etc etc

eh i have a teacher called jason, he learnt cliffs of dover as his first song.

anyway he told me not to learn scales, just mug metal, with metal you own anything

oo really?i have come to known lots of metal and playing soulfully just blows those metals riffs off the water.not everyone can tolerate the noisy riffs that we call metal.but soulful music is heaven to ears.
