sanding neck and body...everything?

hey guys..i'm kinda worried about sanding the fret board...i really want to give the body and neck a remake..but the problem is the frets...i'll 100%ly be sanding the neck (i plan to dye the body and neck) but have problems not getting over onto the fret board..and if i do,i'm worried that i would uneven the fretboard, making it flat and not curved like it should be..

so should i take off the frets and get it professionally done? how much will refretting cost? and does refretting inclue sanding and polishing of the fretboard to make it like brand new?

or

should i just sand the sides and try my best to not go onto the fret board?

or then again, just sand it however i like and dye the neck and send it for refretting?

i don't get you.. What do you exactly want to do?

If you are worried about the dye getting onto your fingerboard, cover it with masking tapes.

i think the threadstarter wants to sand the neck and body for a re-finish, but is afraid that he might accidentally sand the fretboard while doing it. thus, he is considering getting a tech to do the sanding or perform a refret after he's done the sanding, to ensure that the fretboard is in good condition after the sanding (once again, of only body and neck)

hope i didn't just type a load of inaccurate crap :P

bingo baby...i was testing you all and you my friend passed!

err, sorry for the horrible illustration...but what i mean to ask is that, when you guys sand the guitars neck,do you actually sand the fret board?
