haight ashbury is quite a cool place. it's a hippie town

but SF sucks for guitar stores

The guitar store at Haight Ashbury is actually a decent store. It was quite funny when I went there - it was nearing closing time and the store owners decided that they were going to start rearranging some of the layout of the store. Two of the store clerks picked up this standing rack that was holding about 8 guitars and then they started to reverse towards where the owner wanted them to put it. One of the guys tripped and all the guitars fell crashing on to the floor.

I remember they had some very nice flamed Les Pauls there with decent (compared to SG) prices.
