Hi all

If say I cant play the keyboard and I want to do some synth, sampling and production at home, what kind of software should I be looking at?

I was thinking to get some korg products, which doesnt really require you to play piano etc, but im just thinking that maybe I could a get a really good imac and with some softwares I should be ready to go?

Any suggestions?

Hi monk, if you don't mind overcoming a small learning curve, I would highly recommend you check out propellerhead reason...it will enable you to do all those things you mentioned. Also, the virtual patching/cabling experience you acquire from it can help you with a physical setup if/when you choose.

My 2 cents,
luke

This is why most softsynths exist. You are provided with a virtual keyboard, on which you either map computer keyboard keys or click on them, placing them in the piano roll. This is why electronic music is easy, fast and fun! Check out FL Studio too, formerly Fruity Loops.

That's not all, in DAW software that provide you with a piano roll, VST insruments can be used.
