Hi there!

One day i came back with an Avedis Zildjian 16" Custom Thin Crash and my Dad asked me why did i buy this when i can get a whole Sabian set( Hats, Crashes, Ride, China) at Swee Lee for the about the same price: $350-$400.

Is this true? Or is he just making me feel wasted? haha.

Hope i get a reply, thanks Swee Lee :)

usually when you say set, it's just hats, ride and crash. sometimes just hats and crash. chinas and splashes are either sold separately or sold as an effects pack.

for that price, you probably could get a b8 set that comes with 14" hats and crash which of course isn't a good idea.

Hi,

I still remember these comments from my dad as well...but like blackbear wrote, question is what you need (crash/splash...) and what quality / sound you are looking for. I'm a big Sabian-fan, but if I need a Crash and have to choose between a Zildjian Custom and a B8 for 1/3 the price, I would always go for the Zildjian.

"Better" equipment (quality+ soundwise) always made me practice more as I simply enjoyed playing more than I did before...

I'm totally a noob when it comes to cymbals. Maybe someone can help me decide. What cymbals are good for hard rock music?

After playing drums for quite some time, I have decided to use 3 crash cymbals.

Anyone?

maybe you can get the K series ones by Zildjian. there's this mag by Zildjian where they elaborate on every type of Cymbal Series From the As, Ks, ZXTs etc etc.

anyway thanks to the other fellas for sharing their opinion, i shall stay with my one Zildjian Crash heh :D

16" custom thin crash...
Hmm. i think ur dad is refering to the B8 set? or the solar set...
U should they sound like tin cans...
The more u pay, the better the quality.
Try turkish cymbals. cheaper alternative and i heard they are not bad..
Sabians and zildjians are abit pricey. haha.
But o wells.
Splashes at swee lee go for around: $150-$250
Crashes:$400-$550
Hats:$550-$600
China:$400

Depends on series and size:)
