Sabian AAXplosion Crash or Sabian AAX Studio Crash.

Definitely the AAXplosion Crash. I have the 18" and have been using it as my main crash. Pure explosion to keep ur bandmates awake and that extra shimmer is like icing on a cake.

Have used it for gigs and recordings. Never regret it once.. Oh.. And there's a drummer in here too who looking high and low for an AAXplosion also. If i'm not wrong its Marcdadrummer :p .. A handsome guy who once said that the AAXplosion is a tad "too loud" when he heard it last year. guess he had a change of mind eh...

Anyway.. I strongly recommend the AAXplosion series..

haha. okay. nice cymbal set you got there. daaaaamn shiny. hahahhaaha. my eyes burn. haha. where's the cheapest sabian distributor other than swee lee uh?

I own the AAX Studio crash. The studio crash offers a slightly dark, full and rather warm sound, with medium resonance.

Ive tried the AAXplosion crash before. In comparision, the AAXplosion crash give you a brighter sound, with a much higher resonance level. It also has a much longer decay as compared to the studio crash.

Well it boils down to what kind of sound you are looking for i guess.

Of course, all these are just a general statement, as the sound is still subjective to the different inch sizes.

Cheers ;)

WAKLU!!!!

hahaha well long story la.. if not i'd have an aaxplosion 18" to brag about but i guess ITS NOT MEANT TO BE :( GURHHH...

anyways im living with much much much content with an 18" a custom brilliant.. use it as my crash riding... definately bright, with very glassy shimmer..

but i think, nth beats the aaxplosion eh wak??? ahahhahahahahahah gaah ANYONE WITH A 18" AAXPLOSION PLEASE PM ME I CAN TRAD WITH U A GEMSTONE CALLED K DARK THIN CRASH 18".. abihsduoajoudhaislhdiashidhasliudjn

What kind of music do you play? The studio will probably be too soft/dark for you if you play rock. You could also look into the AAX stage, it's quite bright and explosive as well

Do you gig (or intend to) a lot? If the answer is yes, AAXplosion or AAX Stage crashes would work better for you. AAXplosion is much brighter and has more resonance as compared to the Stage and Studio. Cuts through more too.

It largely depends on what are you using it for and what kind of sound you are looking for. I recently acquired a 19" HHXplosion that is wayyy too loud for studio jamming (bandmates complain! lol). But I reckon that it will work well for gigs as a crash ride.

Is it 18" or 19"? Ask ur bandmates to wear earplugs lah... That way u can bash the cymbals to ur heart contents!! Hahahahaha!

Whoops! Should be 19". Must be lack of coffee before going to office lol. Edited :p

It's ok dude. I get to bash my cymbals as much as I want at gigs and when recording hehe ;)

i owned the 16" AAX studio before.
didn't like it at all... the sound was too thin. too soft as well.

personally i would suggest the Xplosion. but try not to get it below 17"

the more i listen to my 16" cymbals i keep feeling like their sound doesn't really project like a 18" would.

an 18" AAXplosion would really do wonders. Ever considered the AAX Dark crash?
