S1620 AND S2170

Hey.
I was at swee lee recently, and saw these two guitars. anyone knows the difference between these two S Prestige guitars?

S1620, S2170

all i know, is that the pickups on the S1620 are 'qm1 and qm2', and the S2170 are 'DiMarzios'. any difference?

And is there any other shops in singapore that sells ibanez guitars ?

i really really really feel like getting a js1000. but its too expensive in swee lee. any idea?

do ask them for the quote on the actual price with gst. pricetags arent the actual. as far as ibanez is concerned, sweelee seems to have the largest range.

JS1000's dont quite differ in price too much (artist series mah). or you can wait for what everyone is waiting for, the sale. have or dont have is a mystery, dont get your hopes too high though.

S1620- Japanese
S2170- Korean

the DiMarzios in the S2170 are DiMarzio IBZ pickups: Ibanez in-house pickups manufactured by DiMarzio.

and the S1620, has a drop-D mechanism?

the drop-D mechanism was last seen in the S2075 (2005), it is effectively discnt'd WEF 2006. there are also S1675/ S1625 (2004) models still avilable in the current market. i believe one forum member is putting up his for sale 8)

as for the Q-series pickups in the S1620, these are above average pickups but nothing spectacular. some would find them lacking in bass but my S1620 benefits from having a fresh set of Tesla pickups in it...

'any good' is really putting down a certain product because it's useless to begin with. considering Gibson's supremecy, is Epiphone any good, then? hope you get the picture...

i heard the Tesla pickups in use before buying them; they have what i wanna hear & i'm glad i bought them... 8)
