Rusty Strings

I am currently using Softwood strings for my ibanez GSR but the strings gets rust in ard 3weeks time..is there any way to prevent it from rust? Oil it??sounds weird to me...hehe

get those string cleaners that guitar shops sell.

its normal for them to rust after 3 weeks... i always change it after 2 months... just use string oil, GHS, D'andrea etc andit'll last for 2 months... if the trebility is lost on the bass E string or intonatonation occurs, change it...

one way to preserve your strings as long as possible, is to wipe them down EVERYTIME after you play

Um.. where do you get the string cleaners / string oil, and what brand should I look for? Thanks.

GHS fast fret D'andrea cleaner, Gibson string cleaner... and use the planet waves cloth micro fibre cloth...

eh... I find that if u continuously play everyday and wipe it thoroughly the strings can last quite long and if you don't play and put the guitar in the open, it will rust in 3 wks. Has this occur to anyone?
