Has anyone tried out this amp? I'm a seaman, so looking around for something decent that's also light. Please leave your comment if you have seen/ tried/heard about it.

Roland Micro cube. ($160 - 180)

it runs on 6 rechargeable AA batteries (not included)
sounds great, its Loud for its size and sounds very very good for something this small.

my other guitarist just bought one as well... very gd value for money!

if you play with overdrive/distortion, you'll be disappointed. Maybe due to the size of the speaker. It sounds more like fart to me :P You'd better get Vox DA5 for this purpose.

Play clean, it's quite good. I even plug my acoustic to it too and quite happy about it, enough for me to curb the lust for acoustic amp hehehee. If you play clean most of the time, it's a very good choce.

I own both Vox DA5 and Micro Cube, btw.

Hi guys, the thread is for MOBILE cube, not MICRO cube.

Mobile cube is a newly launched product from Roland, I have checked with Swee Lee, seems like earliest availability in SG is July.

oops please ignore all my post. I was refering to micro cube. Somehow the 2nd post in the thread direct it to micro cube discussion.

I have a DA5, but am looking for something in between the micro crush and DA5. Mobile Cube seems to have got good reviews at it's launch.. Pity one has to wait until July here.. my DA5 will depreciate further :-)

Hi
I am very interested in the Mobile Cube too .. I called Swee Lee Warehouse
and they told me in 3 months time.. they want to stock up
for the year end and new year period.. In the meantime they
have no stock.

Anyway If someone knows they have stock , please share as I
think this product should be very hot!.

I currently use the Microcube for my Phone Conference calls
and use it to call rare birds in the forest.

Its very good and I would like to have it smaller and lighter.

Hi
I just bought the Mobile Cube. to replace the Micro cube. Its lighter than the micro cube, but it has some 'weight to it' This is because the speakers have big magnets there.. I plugged it into one of the keyboards and it really sounds good for what it is..

My uses are more for telephone conferences and bird calling and now also to monitor my on screen computer training recording. it has a lot of NEW effects, but because of the small size there will be some usage compromise.

Like the Micro cube the AUX in has no mic control but this fellow now has
stearo so there is a separate input for each source. I am not sure if the AUX is stearo compatible but Mono is fine for my uses.

I plugged in the Digitech Vocal processor and put on the drums synt at
max volume and I cannot get the Mobile cube to distort.

The same Power adaptor can be used for the Micro Cube. Swee has NO stock of Roland power adaptors so you can only run on 6 AA batteries.

When the power adaptor plugs in the Batteries are disconnected - which is
a good old feature.

For me I like the feel of the amp, the heavy ness tells me that Roland is not
going to put mud on their face even though this device is made in China.

Cost SG$337.00 (More X than the Micro Cube) 1 yr warranty

They also have the new 4 Speaker Roland Cubes with Microphone support
that Amp is suppose to gurantee lots of bass support..

Anyway I am a happy customer for this amp.

For the benefit of those intending to get the mobile cube but is concerned with the lack of roland power adaptor locally, you can actually use the BOSS PSA-120s power adaptor (according to Roland Tech team) or the 1 SPOT which I am using now. Cheers.

I've owned both and both are ridiculous .The micro cube / da5 are both not worth the money and are pretty average unless u like the effects which are pretty useless .Bwtween then i prefer the MICRO CUBE cuz the packaging is pretty neat whereby the vox da5,the adapter is huge and u have to stuff it in the wooden packaging. The one worth the money is indeed the marshall ms2.beautiful tone and decent overdrive. Its only$60at davis.moreover ,its much smaller and only uses a 9v battery or adapter.

Ive used all of these .Please don't even bother considering the micro spider from line6
