Hi ppl out there!!! ...I trying to do some adjustment to it.... No worry guy ... I will be still having show next few months... Hope to see you guy there!!!!

Hey everyone :) Just rang this glen guy up and had a good talk. Perhaps can help on the technical side of things

Glen's a newbie DGO everyone. Cut him some slack

He used to work in Nightwatch, a youth organisation focused on commercial clubbing events (RnB DJ archetype). Nightwatch itself is a new organisation formed from a former member of Playprojekts, the latter being one of my partners for FLOW.

and Glen if you are reading this: 40 tickets = very unappealling

Alot of new promoters think Live music is the goer because the poor bands get up and do the promotion for you - so essentially it becomes passive income.

Generally, one would hope to discourage such practices because to some, it might seemingly be exploiting the honest intentions of the musicians trying to get their music out... unless of course you have a greater social imperative with the community in mind.

Hope to you see you at the DGO summit tomorrow
Love,
Saito

Dont Worry

Yes it is glen's first time doing a gig but he has done other events before. Line up would be released tomorrow and with a new flyer and tickets are ready up for grabs. Just for a sneak peak. West Grand Boulevard are One of the headline bands and yes i said one, there are more...

One of the biggest advantage of making bands to sell tickets is to ensure that there is a crowd to listen to them preform. It is very demoralising for a band to perform to a empty audience. I hope everyone sees how this will allow more people to expericence the live music scene in singapore.

I don't think Mark is saying that making bands sell tickets is wrong... I think he's just saying that 40 tickets per band might be a bit too much for some bands to push. Assuming you have 10 bands then 10x40 = 400 people at the gig. 10 x 20tix might be easier on the bands with the DGO picking up the other 200 tickets to sell. Remember that if you have several headlining bands, they will be targeting to sell their tickets to the same people because of their similar fanbases.

Don't forget the use of Myspace as a marketing tool :)

"Yes it is glen's first time doing a gig but he has done other events before."

Refer to:

"He used to work in Nightwatch, a youth organisation focused on commercial clubbing events (RnB DJ archetype). Nightwatch itself is a new organisation formed from a former member of Playprojekts, the latter being one of my partners for FLOW."
