Hello SOFTies
For those of you who went to the first RFG, I'm sure you'll share my sentiments that it was an awesome awesome show with an electrifying atmosphere. It has to be one of my favourite gigs of all time, both as a performer and audience.
And as you know, last year we had Rock For Wayne. 'Nuff said about that. A beautiful event in rememberance of the late great Wayne Thunder.
I've had a hand in helping in both these events from past years, but i was just one member of a great team of people, particularly Sabrina and her friends Kelly, Egan, and tons tons more, and for RFW, Justin and a slew of other great great people who did the bulk of the heavy work.
Unfortunately, the likeliness of having a Rock For Good this year seem quite slim. Sabrina is pretty tied up with her A levels and school this year, and it wouldn't be fair to expect her to commit to such a time-consuming project in such an important year of her life. Though I co-organized these events with her, I can safely say that without her pressence, it would be nearly impossible to pull off solo.
But it'd be such a waste to let go of a tradition that is really shaping up to be one of the better and bigger annual gigs. I'm sure any of you who have been to either of this gigs can vouch for that With a great lineup of talented bands and a killer audience, it's always been a joy to witness and attend.
But I can't do this huge undertaking on my own.
And I need all the help I can get for this year.
Is anyone here in SOFT willing to commit themselves to seeing this project through?
Be warned though; it's a time-consuming process. A lot of promotion, a lot of ticket-running, a lot of seemingly mundane tasks like the printing of flyers and posters. It's not a slacker's job, and for the most part, it isn't something that's very glamourous or fun. But I promise you at the end of the day, that feeling of achievement at getting the job done will put a smile on your face
So yeah, there isn't a committee to speak of yet. There are no plans, no confirmed venue, no confirmed date, no confirmed lineup. But if everyone's willing to put their faith and efforts together, we can make ROCK FOR GOOD III a reality.
Is there anybody out there willing to volunteer whatever talents, resources, contacts that they have to make this the biggest and best ROCK FOR GOOD yet?
Yours,
Levan
