RIP- Denis 'Piggy' D'Amour (Voivod)

in memory of Denis 'Piggy' D'Amour, perhaps a very under-rated guitar player, of Voivod. the 45yr old succumbed to colon cancer which became terminal towards the later part of treatment.

i would personally consider Denis as a player who is responsible for propelling the metal genre into an avant garde manifestation, while retaining tasteful passages in a band context.

if you are unfamiliar with Voivod, check out 'Nothingface' which is arguably the best offering by the band, but it's something hard to come by these days.

one really "out-guitarist". check-out Astronomy Domain from Nothingface. i think it is a cover of Pink Floyd (correct me if i'm wrong).
