blackmoo owns one..you can ask him about it  i saw one at swee lee warehouse. not sure bout brash basah though

hey man, i use a rg450mmh. i've got dimarzio breeds on it for both neck and bridge. it was really worth the money for me, but then i bought it second hand. was as good as new though. it's my main guitar. i'd say the neck is great for playing, smooth feel to it, fast and easy to play. the lo-pro edge stays in tune effortlessly. it never goes out of tune for me, and i'm a constant abuser of the whammy bar. the tone that comes out of it is really great, but thats also due to the breeds. great for heavy rock and most metal i'd say.

Specs:
Mahogany Body
Jumbo Frets
Hard Maple Neck & Fingerboard (Super Wizard Neck, 3-Piece)
Licensed Floyd Rose Lo-Pro Edge Tremolo
24 Frets
Gotoh SG381 Tuners
1 Volume, 1 Tone, 5-Way Switch
Pearloid Pickguard
Ibanez V7 Humbucker, S1 Single-Coil, V8 Humbucker (H-S-H)

Erm, what else you wanna know?

Oh yea, and as subversion said, absolutely worth every cent! I've got no regrets whatsoever about it.

Lo-pro Edge- are you sure you got the RG450MH?

definitely worth it, a really nice guitar, i would have bought it if i had the money a few months ago, loved everything about it, the super slim neck, the maple fretboard, the edge pro bridge, but i disliked the color and imo the muddiness of the bridge pic, and the price a bit out of reach for me then, but definitely a really nice guitar and beats the RG350/370 hands down

I'm an owner of the RG450MMH. Its a very cool guitar to own. Soundwise, its abit of an aquired taste, as its darkish with bright edges to it, the combo of mahog and maple. It took me some time to get used to the sound. The neck and single coil are great. Just the bridge, although good sounding on clean, sounds abit lacking for leads. Might wanna consider a swap. I have a duncan JB in my bridge. The sound is brighter now, yet clear and cleans up nicely when rolled down.

The bridge is great. Smooth, unobstructed action, very stable intonation. 99% of the time, after a violent whammy onslaught, it comes back to pitch perfectly. Overall, the maple/maple neck is slim, great feel, and looks great too. Definitely a good buy.

Grab the last few remaining pieces as they're no longer in production, the highest RG series before the prestieges. The worksmanship on mine (MIJapan) is superb.

Stop reading. Get one already.

ok got it
what pickup to change to
for metal chugga bridge n thick neck solo tone

the middle pickup is redundant to me

anyway to cover it?

how do you clean the maple fret board?

its not laquered like fender necks

would it be more prone to damages?

rg450.jpg

anyway here it is

where can i get a pick guard that fits and doesnt have a slot of the middle pick up?

the middle pickup is definitely not useless if your neck and bridge PUs do not mix well on other positions. sometimes you do end up with 2 pickups u like on the neck and bridge but they don't interact well together.

imo the middle single coil usually works well in your clean parts.

as for what to change to, DiMarzio and SD both have their Pickup selector and Tone Wizard functions on their website. you might want to try them to get an idea.

* btw covering the middle is impossible. u'll have to get a new pickguard which is crazy. i would suggest you leave a dummy pickup unwired there if you're not using it.

there's an unoffical way. i dont think there's an offical way.

"While I cannot guarantee this method of cleaning is the safest, best or least damaging, I can verify that it works like a champ. I highly recommend after keeping it clean to wash your hands prior to playing your guitar and wipe the fretboard before and after playing. This will keep your maple board looking great for a while."

my recommendation:

neck: Duncan Distortion
bridge: Duncan Distortion PATB

you can use regular guitar polish to just wipe off the fretboard, some prefer using plain dry cloth. maple fretboards are easier to clean as they are non-porous.

Get a pickguard that is cut only for H-H, remove the mid pickup from ur guitar, do some wiring changes, put the new pickguard on

I recommend DD neck/59' bridge

the spacing might be a problem but the 59' is my favourite for the chugga tone.

The Evo2 in the bridge position will sound great, however do note it may be abit hard to control. Breeds in a 450 is a foolproof plan :).
