can name me any musician/band who revolutionise music for
the past,hmmm,let say 30 years.......
all i can think of right now, forgive me if im wrong, was Nirvana
creating grunge....
any1 have any addition to this thread?

malmsteen didnt really revolutionise music la... but he did stir up interest in neo classical rock ...he is still one of THE icons of that genre.

personally i feel the ONE person who revolutionised music was michael jackson. His music was really good.

or maybe i should say "popularise" cause i know that at that point in time , the guitar playing industry was somehow becoming stagnant and people were really getting sick and tired of hearing the same old style of playing all over again....

Thank u Black Sabbath for creating metal and its sub-genres that we all come to head-bang today...

Thank u Jimi Hendrix for creating such a thing as a "guitar virtuosity"...

Thank u Eddie Van Halen for coming out with the "brown" sound, whammies and the double hand tappings...

Thank u Neil Peart for being one of the pioneers of "drumming virtuosity"..

Thank u Beatles for producing The Sgt Pepper's album which lead to genre called "progressive" music..

.
