as part of The Substation's Associate Artist Research Programme (AARP), my project, "rethinking music", is a body of work which looks into music from various fields of inquiry. yet at the end of the spectrum, after considering the philosophical, sociological and cultural implications, i return to the interpretation of truth as opined by the individual.
"rethinking music" charts my personal development in creating / formulating a sonic grammar relating to narratives and the cultural landscape of modern day Singapore, which i hope to share with other practitioners of any creative field.
from the 14th - 18th March 2012 (tomorrow till Sunday), i will be sharing present developments of my work.
during this period, i am inviting the public to participate / collaborate in various improv sessions held in The Substation's Gallery. these sessions are open to everyone and anyone, from those who dabble in music, choreography to visual arts. i hope to engage in healthy dialogues pertaining to our individual work and to explore our practices together.
bring your instruments, ideas and opinions about your work, for i hope that in these next few days, we celebrate our processes, our genuine interest at calibrating new and exciting thoughts and works.

16th March : 11am - 9pm (talk + open workshop 7:30pm)
17th March : 11am - 6pm (open workshop - 2:00pm)
