hey guys,
i haven't been touching my bass for quite sometime coz the wiring on my bass have been broken off, and was lazy to send it for repair :p

anyway my fren show me a link to ;this website where there are bass wiring diagram avaliable, so i took at it and plan to DIY my own bass repair. Have anyone done his/her own bass repair b4 and where can find the components? I know could get from sim lim tower but do they sell the components for guitars?? or where do u guys suggest i could get the components?

hi,

sure, you can diy. all you need to know is how to solder. if you have the diagram, you can't go wrong. bass wiring is much simpler than electric guitars.

by the way, can you please share the link? i'm looking for the wiring diagram of my guitar. it's very old.

if the pickups and potentiometers are fine just redo the wiring. can't go wrong with that. it's advisable to buy guitar pots. i've tried using cheap pots from electric stores and they didn't work, even when they're the same specs. you can use any capacitors though, but try to get hi quality ones.

hey,

here's the link of the webby my fren intro me got most of the think under the sun. http://www.guitarelectronics.com

my pickups sould be working fine the last time i check but my potentiometers cannot make it already and the wiring too so need to change new one, where can buy i hi quality one ah?? my fren told me guitar 77 might sell but not sure tml i go check it out, any other place do sell them?

ok quick question, the volume uses the linear pot one whereas the tone uses the audio pot one rite?

tone and volume pot is the same, either 250k or 500k,passive bass normally use 250k...
dude,if this is your first time doing it,better dont do it alone, find someone that's used to this kind of stuff...the chance of you screwing your own bass will be lesser
sometimes you know the diagram and know which wire should go to which pot, thats great, but your skill with soldering iron plays a part too,nvr solder properly can result to shitty sound,so all the best to you bro

hey reyrey,

thanks for the advised will take note abt the value of the pot. study electronics eng b4 i believe my skill with soldering iron should be ok. althought haven't been doing much soldering haha :p
