izit possible to replace a hardtail bridge with a lrbaggs piezo? or for that matter chuck in a piezo into a strat? where can i get original fender stock pickups?

yes to the first 2 Qns. best thing u can do is get to Maestro to talk to them about the Graphtech + Piezo saddles/bridge man. (I'm an avid supporter for Graphtech, it's really good.)

Fender stocks u can probably find on 2nd hand classifieds or Sweelee.

hmm.. ya.. graph techs are nice.. how much would they cost tho.. been looking for stock fender pus for a while now.. cant really find lah.. anyone got any? lol.. i got a strat body, nice shiny green... now need the parts.. all of them...

the normal graphtech strat (the black ones) are about 50+ and those with piezos are around 150+.

why don't you consider SD/Dimarzio/Other PUs since you have a strat body from scratch. there're those that come in one matched set for 160-180 at Davis for SD pickups i think.. calibrated neck/mid/bridge.

i'm kinda on a budget lah.. wanna get a decent strat for less than 250 from scratch.. hee.. but will consider the sd. davis does good deals. got my sd distortions there..

thing about the stock PUs - mex ones most will agree that it's a little lacking, whereas few people sell their Am PUs cheap (and u can't identify them anyway).

a piezo will definitely raise ur budget at least 100. u'll need to consider where to place your battery compartment, do some more wiring and stuff.

heh heh DIY'ness! i assembled a strat too, sunburst. completed it a few months ago, electronics dont work right, and im too lazy to fix em but i think u might have some problems getting everything for under 250. a good neck might cost u around that much as it is.

Mew - i think so. it's been quite a while since i went Davis, so it's off the top of my head.. can't confirm with you. (i only go there to buy strings anyway)...

for the sets you gotta ask. but yes i think they will be cheaper than if you bought 3 individual boxes of the same Pups.

i just set up a guitar myself.. tom delonge strat but everything not fender based la.. cuz.. err. my pockets not so deep.. well. all in all i spent hmm, $70 bucks.. most of the stufff got off luthermusic..
